• Chemical Peels
What is chemical peel?
This simple technique involves a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. It tightens the skin, reduces wrinkling and restores a more youthful appearance.
What are different Types of Peels?
After determining with the doctor the level of skin improvement you desire, the type of peel will be decided. Some of the types are
• Superficial peels – These are light peels that cause some redness and possible dryness for a few days.
• Medium and deep peels – These can result in dryness, swelling, peeling or sometimes scabbing.
What are Chemical Peels used for? Chemical peels are used to treat following conditions-
• Fine lines and wrinkles

• Dermaroller
How it works?
Derma rollers are used for a treatment process called micro-needling or skin needling. It is a form of collagen induction therapy. The actual derma roller is made up of a small, solid wheel attached to a little stick that propels it backwards and forwards across your face in small sections. The roller is covered with hundreds of minuscule 'micro-medical' needles that penetrate the skin, creating lots of tiny micro injuries. Your skin responds by producing extra collagen to 'heal' the punctures, and that's what plumps up the skin again and enhances the natural blood supply – so you get a natural 'glow'. Depressed acne scars, wrinkles, skin texture are all improved as a result. Derma roller also tightens the skin and reduces pigmentation and improves sun damaged skin.
What does Derma roller treat?
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Anti – ageing / skin tightening
• Acne scars/ pitted scars
• Open pores / skin texture improvement
• Stretch marks
How is the procedure done?
• A local anaesthetic is applied on the skin to make the treatment comfortable.
• The skin roller is then passed over the treatment area multipletimes.
• Usually 2-5 sessions are required for the optimal result.
Which Areas can be treated?
face, hands, neck, back and chest can be treated with skin needling; but most commonly, only the face is treated.
Who is a Suitable candidate for skin needling?
those with acne scarring, fine lines and those looking to improve skin texture and tightness. It can be used on all skin types and from light to dark skins. As opposed to laser treatments, there is less chance of pigmentation problems after the treatment. It is not suitable for people who have open cuts, wounds or sun-burnt skin.
How does it feel?
Most patients describe derma roller as 'uncomfortable' but not painful. To make the treatment comfortable a topical local anaesthetic can be used.
Most non-surgical treatments work on the principle of superficially damaging or causing minor trauma to the skin and forcing the body to heal itself by stimulating the body's natural collagen reproduction.
Are there any side effects?
Generally, you will experience some redness of the skin for a few hours after the procedure.

Microdermabrasion :
What is microdermabrasion?
The term microdermabrasion refers to micronized (tiny) crystals derived from minerals. The technician uses an instrument to direct a stream of these fine crystals onto the skin. These crystals are used to abrade the skin thereby removing dead and flaking skin cells. As this is being done, a small vacuum removes the crystals along with the upper layer of skin. As a result, the production of new skin cells and collagen is being stimulated.
What are benefits of microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a way to improve many unsightly surface conditions.
removal of age spots, blackheads, whiteheads fine lines around the eyes, lips and neck. Dull and rough textured skin can be improved. In addition, the treatment can be used to reduce mild scarring and scaly skin lesions.
What is duration of treatment?
Each treatment takes approximately one half hour to complete, and no anesthesia is required.
The number of treatments depends on the size, depth and type of skin problem the patient has. The microdermabrasion treatment is repeated every 7 to 10 days for up to 12 treatments. Additional monthly treatments may be recommended for maintenance purposes.
What changes should I expect after treatment?
The skin will be noticeably improved after the first treatment. Age spots, fine lines and wrinkles will be diminished, and the skin will take on a more radiant glow. Acne scars will become less noticeable and many report fresher, younger looking skin. With microdermabrasion, some moisture will be lost; therefore, special cleansers and moisturizers will be recommended for daily use. Some patients experience a tightening and redness of the skin immediately after the treatment. The sensation has been compared to mild sunburn. These conditions last for only a short time. Some people notice dryness in the treated area and may be advised to apply a moisturizer.
Why microdermabrasion?
There are several reasons to choose microdermabrasion over other techniques. Microdermabrasion requires less time and involves less discomfort. Recovery time is rapid and normal activities can be resumed immediately. Microdermabrasion is safe and effective on most parts of the body and can be used in conjunction with other procedures such as laser skin resurfacing and chemical peel.
